Who may submit to Grassroots?

All undergraduate students attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale are eligible and encouraged to submit their work to the magazine. Grassroots accepts all kinds of art including, but not limited to:

How do I submit?

Create a cover sheet for your submission. This cover sheet should have the following information:

Remove all identifying information from your work. We choose our pieces by anonymous voting, so any work that has identifying information may not be considered for publication. If you are submitting an essay, include your sources. Any essays that do not include outside sources will not be considered for publication. All work must be 100% original and your own.

Email your submissions to Grassroots editors at Grassrootsmag.gmail.com as an attachment. Literary art should be mailed in .doc or .docx format, and visual art should be mailed as a .tif or .jpeg at 300 dpi.

When should I submit?

Our inbox is open year-round. To be considered for the 2014-2015 edition of Grassroots, your work must be submitted by Sunday, November 30, 2014.
