The Devil's Kitchen Fall Literary Festival at Southern Illinois University Carbondale
The Devil's Kitchen Fall Literary Festival is an annual three-day festival feauring readings, panels, and book signings by writers from across the nation. The festival is held on the campus of Southern Illinois University Carbondale and is sponsored by Grassroots, SIUC's undergraduate literary magazine.
Grassroots also sponsors the annual Devil's Kitchen Reading Awards in Poetry and Prose. These awards recognize one poet and one prose writer (fiction or literary nonfiction) for a collection of work, a novel, or memoir published in the preceding year.
The Winners of the 2011 Devil's Kitchen Reading Awards are Jerry Williams (Poetry) and Alyson Hagy (prose). They read from their works as a part of the three day Devil's Kitchen Literary Festival.
