Mal Lovett
Things are sitting still.
Still, they haven’t moved.
Lift yourself and see, can’t you see?
It’s driving me up the wall.
I’ve walked wall to wall, on and on,
On and off again for a break
of staring wall to wall,
Wall to ceiling, wow I’m feeling
crazy, still.
Aren’t you tired? Drained slowly from the inside out?
Time after time, staring blankly at dull white,
You know nothing will change?
In walls of white, eyes have no feelings.
Every process behind these walls are ones
Of violent purging, of scarring cleansing.
In walls of white, eyes aren’t worth seeing.
Trapped words are the cinders building these blockades
And don’t you feel safe?
