Oh, lover, how I miss you so

My loneliness shines in evening’s glow-
I have barely managed in these few days.
Oh, lover, how I miss you so…

I search for you in a tearful haze,
a desperate search for your loving gaze-
My loneliness shines in evening’s glow.

This grief is something only a screen portrays,
but this is real, and it sets my heart ablaze.
Oh, lover, how I miss you so.

Come this way, my love, with no delays,
come in trains, in cars, in jingling sleighs-
My loneliness shines in evening’s glow.

This distance has sent me in a craze-
God, will I miss you always?
Oh, lover, how I miss you so.

You are gone down halls and highways,
but I am left in distress and disarrays.
My loneliness shines in evening’s glow-
Oh, lover, how I miss you so.
