When The Wallflower Sings

When the time comes,
I will know these words ring true.
When the time comes,
I will remember all I changed.
When the time comes,
I will say the words on the page.

During this time,
I watch all the people passing by.
During this time,
We listen to the strangers nearby.
During this time,
They believe I share their oblivion.

Far in the future,
My emotions will be nourished.
Far in the future,
We might forget the pain caused.
Far in the future,
My mouth will open wide.

In this moment,
My words sound hollow like rotten trees.
In this moment,
My memory is like the sand in my fingers.
In this moment,
My voice echoes in the void of outer space.

They say one day, everything will change.
But we can only live day-to-day,
Aching for the future,
Running from the past,
Hating the present.
