Rachel Sanchez
I spoke to you the other day,
Now you run through my hand like
Sand through an hourglass.
The solid form that was you,
Seeps back into the universe
To join the ever-expanding cosmos.
The stardust that you have become
Burns my lungs and causes heavy
Tears to flow from my eyes,
Into an endless ocean of sorrow
That ebbs and flows with your lunar passing.
But much like a wave that must return to the sea,
So goes that most ethereal part of you
To be placed back in the night sky.
Always in sight, but forever out of reach.
