Jennifer Annais McSparin
Sometimes softly they fall
temporary lightness from heaviness borne
Sanguine snow & feathers, tears & ash
from scars & fires past, gravitas & sound:
Hark! The dark angel Annais doth sing
of grace & of clamber, cold slippin’ the rings
Doffed from wrists, waist, wings unbound
uncuff at ankles, ungrip & unground
Uproot & unravel from them noxious weeds
Hummingbird rises from sown spirit seeds
Held in the body unsung spirit often rots
purge & pen word to enlighten the naughts!
