If You Came to Know Me

Skylar McDuffee

Long and learned I hope to live
Far out by the water
Moral and serene midst a dream
Without too much totter
If you came to know me, I’d give
A nickel and a dime
For you to flee with hurried time
From my woeful slaughter
As years pass, you would come to find
My dreams remain just dreams
and I, my father’s daughter.
