Paul Vanni
I gaze down a new road, one
where no longer will the
expectations of too many
Others press down severely, the
weight of those expectations
crushing, destroying identity,
Burying the few, scattered bits
of confidence which were once
visible, crushing any sense of
Self, smothering creativity.
Creativity too long unknown,
unrecognized, unacknowledged,
Unrefined, a bruised and abused creativity
which now greedily takes in fresh air, as
it surfaces from a deep, dark, despotic
Cave, begins to focus, then casts its
longing eyes toward the unexplored new
road, a path which invites, hinting at the
Possibility of other new paths, at
identities unguessed, unimagined,
unrevealed, but soon to be comprehended.
