If I had a flower
for every time I thought of you,
I could walk forever
in a garden that rivals the beauty
found just beyond Eden’s gates.
Each lovely thought,
a seed,
a sprout,
a splendid flower-
Roses for love,
camellias and anemone for desire,
anticipation.
Tulips to reflect perfection,
carnations in reference to my fascination,
orchids for your beauty.
Each step deeper in our garden
pulls us deeper in love,
asters and yarrow
licking at our heels
as we get lost in this magnificent garden
I grew for you.
I will pick each flower
and fill vases with them,
each one full of lovely thoughts,
my affection for you on full display
in a colorful array of petals.
