The Man with a Dream

Jason Thompson

I’ve visited so many places
Some new and some old
I’ve heard so many stories
And there are still many to be told

But the story that always
Stayed deep within my heart
Belonged to a man
With an interesting start

A man who’d seen the world
Much like me
But he had the passion
That began with a dream

He wanted to fly over the valleys
And run through the plains
He yearned adventure
And all of its gains

He went through life
Like each day was his lsat
Looking forward to tomorrow
Before today was in the past

And the stories he’s share
Would bring tears to my eyes
Some of laughter, fear,
And some with sorrowful cries

His wods were so vivid
With imagination’s glory
He’d enlighten your ears
With a plethora of stories

You see, this man had dreams
That I can longer envision
He lived out his days
With miraculous precision

But those days are gone
And so is that man
Lost to the world
In which he became overran

Now, he is a memory
In your mind and mine
And one day he’ll be forgotten
For the rest of time
